Indie Film Synopsis

Genre: Comedy / Drama

Contentment is never really found anywhere.

Helen believes it so. A photographer of a well-known fashion magazine, she possesses the strict eyes that distinguish what is beautiful and what’s not; although, she is never contented with everything—her life, her works, herself. She doesn’t see the ‘real beauty’ present in the world.

Helen got in a car accident that injured both of her eyes, making her blind. This accident deeply injures her self-esteem, her insight towards the world and her relationship to God. She thinks she would rather be dead than blind.

Helen is admitted to the hospital for treatment. In the same hospital, she meets Nurse Pogi—a male nurse who is undeniably handsome; even hailed as the most handsome nurse in the hospital. Nurse Pogi is assigned to take care of Helen, who refuses his help at first.

Being the talkative, funny enthusiastic and a secretly ‘powerful’ person he is, Nurse Pogi uses his charms—not physical though—and his little ‘powers’ to win Helen’s heart, to put a smile on her face and to help this patient who experienced loss, go through grieving smoothly and accept the reality of her condition. Nurse Pogi does all of these by indirectly ‘granting’ Helen’s wishes.

These make Helen realize that she doesn’t need the things that she lacks to make her complete and that she needs nothing more than herself, her loving family and God. Helen recognizes Pogi’s actions, not knowing that he turns out to be one very special person in everyone’s life.

Her pitiful condition opens up a ‘long untreated wound’ between her and her brother. The healing of this wound was hastened with Nurse Pogi’s assistance. However, in a playful twist of fate, just as everything’s going okay, Helen’s brother dies of the same accident Helen got into and becomes her cornea donor.

Helen feels like she is brought to hell. She could not accept the fact that she has the eyes of her brother. She shuns everyone away, including Nurse Pogi and chooses to break the link between the two of them—an act which she regrets too much.

After three days of grieving, all of her memories with Pogi is relived. While still unable to remove the bandages, she searches for Pogi with some of her friends help but it appears that he doesn’t exist at all. Helen wonders about her past stay, “Was it just a dream?” but quickly dismisses the thought, being the pragmatic woman she is. She gives up on finding him and returns to her room.

When it was about time to remove her bandages and no one was in her room but herself, Nurse Pogi surprisingly appears with a hearty reunion with Helen. He says he comes to remove the bandages for her; so that Helen could see him first. As Helen opens her eyes, she sees nothing but a pure bright light. No, she isn’t dead nor is she dreaming.

Only—Helen sees God and says to herself, “So, it was God all along.” A realization also comes up, “You don’t need to see God to ‘fall in love’ with Him”.
